The screening of the documentary "The Odin Code"

The documentary film "The Odin Code" by Swedish director Mikael Silkeberg, dedicated to the connections between Scandinavian and Azerbaijani cultures, was screened at the Flagey Cultural Center in Brussels.

The event, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Belgium, brought together diplomats, cinema enthusiasts, students, and members of the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Ambassador Vaqif Sadiqov stated: “Today’s film combines Odin’s ancient symbolism with eternal landscapes and history, taking us on a cinematic journey through the Scandinavian countries and the Caucasus. ‘The Code of Odin’ invites us to reflect on the universal search for meaning. It also reminds us that art can build bridges where politics is powerless.”

"The Odin Code" is Silkeberg’s second film about Azerbaijan-Sweden relations. His first film, titled “The Legend of the Khari Bulbul,” was also dedicated to the intersection of the two regions’ cultures.

The screening concluded with sustained applause, and the audience had the opportunity to interact with the director. According to Silkeberg, learning about another culture helps to better understand one’s own roots and strengthens mutual understanding between peoples.
