Embassy Hosts Book Exhibition of "IRS" Publishing House Promoting Azerbaijan’s Cultural Heritage
On June 9, an exhibition of new books published by IRS Publishing House was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Vagif Sadigov noted that IRS Publishing House, one of the leading publishing houses in Azerbaijan, publishes numerous books and magazines dedicated to the history, culture, art and architecture of Azerbaijan. These publications are published in various foreign languages.
Musa Marjanli, Director of IRS Publishing House and Director of the Cultural Heritage Research Center of Baku State University, delivered a speech and spoke about the activities of the publishing house, its projects, and its work to promote Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage worldwide. M. Marjanli noted that, with the support of PASHA Life Insurance Company, the “IRS” series project has been successfully implemented by the publishing house since 2013 with the aim of introducing and promoting Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, national traditions and numerous historical and cultural monuments at the international level. Within the framework of the project, numerous books reflecting the country’s cultural heritage have been published and presented to a broad readership. He presented the books on display to the guests and answered their questions.
Speaking at the event, Philippe Humble shared his views on the themes reflected in the books published by IRS Publishing House and spoke about his impressions of Azerbaijan. He also emphasized the importance of multiculturalism, noting that these values contribute to the development of mutual understanding among societies.
Antonio Buscardini, Head of Travel Tomorrow, a Belgium-based media company specializing in tourism, shared with the participants his views on the rich historical and cultural heritage he encountered during his visits to Azerbaijan, the country’s tourism potential, and its growing international profile.
The exhibition was attended by representatives of the Belgian public and diplomatic corps, as well as members of the Azerbaijani community in Belgium.
The event continued with performances of classical and national musical pieces by Azerbaijani musicians studying in Belgium. The musical programme was met with great interest and appreciation by the participants.
During the event, guests had an opportunity to take a closer look at the publications displayed at the exhibition.
