The dearest memory of our servicemen killed in the First and Second Karabakh Wars, as well as civilians was commemorated in Brussels on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance.

On September 27, a commemorative event dedicated to the fist anniversary of the start of the 44-day Patriotic War and a sign of deep respect to our servicemen, all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was held in Brussels.

A moment of silence to honor the memory of martyrs was observed. 

Afterwards, Ambassador Vagif Sadigov, emphasizing the views of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in his address to the nation on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance on September 27, noted that due to Azerbaijan's achievements in socio-economic, political, cultural, military spheres, as well as in the field of diplomacy, the 44-day Patriotic War resulted in a great historical victory.

The ambassador said that the hearts of millions of Azerbaijanis living abroad also beat with the historical homeland and we bow once again to the memory of our heroic martyrs who died for the homeland.
